XXIII Introduction to the Financial Market Course

The Introduction to the Financial Market Course is a project by Poli Finance aimed at preparing the university community with the financial knowledge required by the market in the most competitive recruitment processes.

This course is designed for those who want to:

• Deepen their knowledge of finance;

• Prepare for recruitment processes;

• Learn about different areas within the financial market.

  
  

The course consists of 13 classes covering the following topics:

• Financial Market: basic concepts, market segments, career paths;

• Investments: interest rates, fixed and variable income, investment theories, key indicators;

• Financial Mathematics;

• Accounting: income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, financial ratios;

• Valuation;

• Case Study;

• Recruitment processes in the financial market;

• In addition, there will be one class taught by a partner company, to be announced.*

*This class will be exclusive to in-person students.

This semester, the course will be offered in two formats: in-person and online. Upon registration, students must choose one format and will not be allowed to attend classes in the other format.

Classes will not be recorded.

The course booklet will be distributed to in-person students on the first day of class. For online students, if they purchase the booklet package by August 29, it will be delivered in time for the start of classes. After this date, delivery times may be affected due to proximity to the start of classes and potential postal service delays.

The online format will include a basic package and a package with the booklet. The package with the booklet will be available as a separate registration option and will include shipping via post. The in-person format will include one promotional ticket and two regular ticket batches.

Classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5:15 PM to 6:45 PM, both in-person and online (via Zoom), except on October 21st and 23rd (due to exam week at Poli) and October 28th (due to a public holiday).
